To set up your system for a crossover LAN connection (direct connection between a PC and a PXB, or PXB to other instruments), do the following:
From the (located in the XP Start menu), double-click .
Right-click and select .
In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, highlight . Ensure that the checkbox remains checked.
Click .
Select (radio selection).
Enter the IP address:
If the PXB is the controller, enter (To configure client instruments, see Configuring a Crossover LAN.)
If the PXB is the client (PC is the controller), enter
Click the Subnet mask entry field; an address appears.
Click to accept the configuration.
Close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
Close the Network Connections window.
Connect the LAN cable.
From your PXB's , click .
Right-click and select .
In the Local Area Connection Status dialog box, click .
In the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, highlight . Ensure that the checkbox remains checked.
Click .
Select the option or enter your system IP address.
Click to accept the configuration.
Close the Local Area Connection Properties dialog box.
Close the Local Area Connection Status dialog box and the Network Connections window.
