The E4438C, E8267C and E8267D internal files are stored as a single file with alternating I and Q samples. Sample points are stored as 16-bit integers (2 bytes per sample). The I or Q waveform is encoded into the full 16 bits.

to to enable this parameter.Markers may be imported from a separate file, if desired. The marker file format is 1 byte per I/Q sample pair. If there are 1000 samples in the waveform, the marker file must contain 1000 bytes. The 4 least significant bits in the byte contain Markers 1-4, with the least significant bit containing Marker 1.
