Receiver Connection Setup
Remote DCA Fields
Use the Connection Method field to select the method of communicating with the Receiver: LAN, USB, or GPIB. This is the connection between FlexPLL and:
- A DCA-X that has a N1060A module. FlexPLL can be installed on a remote PC or on the DCA-X.
- A DCA-M N107x-series clock recovery module connected to a PC. FlexPLL must also be is installed on the same PC.
- A DCA-M N107x-series clock recovery module connected to a DCA-X. FlexPLL must also be is installed on the same DCA-X.
After making all of the following required source connection settings, click Connect to DCA.
LAN
You can select LAN when using a DCA-X. When LAN is selected, specify the type of LAN Server: VXI-11, Sockets, or HiSLIP.
VXI-11, a Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN)
For VXI-11, enter the DCA-X's host name (for example, K-N1000A-12345) or IP address. Also enter the VXI-11 Device Index, which can be 0 to 15 (default value 0).
HiSLIP, a High Speed Local Area Network (HLAN)
If HiSLIP is selected, enter the DCA-X's host name (for example, K-N1000A-12345) or IP address. Also enter HISLIP Device Index, which can be 0 to 15 (default value 0). The HISLIP Port has a default value of 4880 and range from 0 to 65535.
GPIB
You can select GPIB when using a DCA-X that has a GPIB port. Enter string representing the GPIB Interface. For example, "gpib74". Enter the GPIB Address number which can range from 0 to 30 (default value is 0).
USB
You can select USB when using a DCA-M. Use the USB SICL Address drop down to select the source on USB. The USB SICL Address is automatically made available when the source's USB connection is made.
DCA CDR Location
Use this field to specify the slot number where the receiver's clock-recovery module resides. For an N1060A module, select slot 1 if the module is installed in slots 1,2, and 3. Select slot 2 if the module is installed in slots 2, 3, and 4. For a DCA-M module, select the slot where the module is installed in FlexDCA.
