You can renumber chassis only if the active resource manager is Keysight Technologies. To change the active resource manager, select |
Connection Expert's Chassis Content view lists your chassis in order by chassis number. This is most useful in multi-chassis systems (multiple PXI or AXIe chassis connected to one host computer). You may want to change the default numbering to match the usage in an existing test program, or to better correspond to the physical layout of your test system.
To change a chassis number:
- Run Connection Expert from the IO Control icon
, then select PXI/AXIe Chassis.
- Select Chassis Numbers.
- Select the chassis you want to renumber from the list on the left.
- The drop-down menu at the right lists all the numbers that are available for this chassis. Only unassigned chassis numbers are listed. In the graphic below, notice that Chassis Number 2 is not listed as a possible new chassis number. That is because it is already used as a chassis number for the M9019A.
- Select the new chassis number.
- Click OK to save the new chassis number. The chassis will now be listed by that number in the Chassis Content and Chassis Triggers views.
Example
If you need to exchange two chassis numbers, you must first renumber one of the two chassis to an unassigned number. For example, if you have five chassis, numbered 1 through 5, and you want to reassign chassis 2 to be chassis 3, and chassis 3 to be chassis 2, you can do the following:
- Renumber chassis 2 to be chassis 6. Number 6 is a placeholder that we are using because it is free.
- Renumber chassis 3 to be chassis 2.
- Renumber chassis 6 to be chassis 3.
Now you once again have five chassis numbered 1 through 5, but numbers 2 and 3 have been reversed.
