Remote IO Server Options
If you are unfamiliar with Remote IO Server, read its introduction here: Remote IO Server.
If you change the properties of the Remote IO Server while it is running, the changes will not take effect until you stop and restart the Remote IO Server software.
Configuration Settings
Setting | Description |
---|---|
Enable Remote IO Server | Selecting this option initiates the Remote IO Server when you click OK; it continues running if already active. Conversely, unchecking the option prevents (or halts if already running) the Remote IO Server from starting. |
Auto-Start Remote IO Server on Machine Startup | Selecting this option triggers the automatic startup of the Remote IO Server whenever the operating system boots up. Conversely, deselecting the checkbox prevents the Remote IO Server from starting automatically. |
Server Timeout | The Remote IO Server uses the timeout value, in seconds, when SICL applications utilize the default timeout value or set the timeout to 0 (infinity). The default server timeout value is 120 seconds. |
Log Errors |
Selecting this option enables the Remote IO Server to log errors to both the Windows Event Log and the server's console window. Conversely, clearing this option prevents Remote IO Server errors from being logged.
|
Log Locks and Connections |
Selecting this option activates logging of locks and user connections to both the Windows Event Log and the server's console window. Conversely, clearing this option disables logging of locks and connections. The console window is visible only if you have directly initiated C:\Program Files\Keysight\IO Libraries Suite\bin\siclland.exe, rather than through Connection Expert.
|
Use Keepalive Client Probes |
Selecting this option enables the Remote IO Server software to periodically send keepalive client probes to the client PC(s). Conversely, clearing this checkbox disables the sending of keepalive client probes. Keepalive client probes can be utilized to verify the active status of connections to client computers. When enabled, probes are sent once every 2 hours if no other communication has occurred over the connection during that period. If there is no response to the first probe, subsequent probes are sent once every second. After a series of probe response failures, the server terminates the connection. Many users prefer to leave keepalive client probes turned off (checkbox cleared). This allows for temporary connection losses to occur without the connection being terminated. |
