Common Settings
Settings under the Common Settings tab are applicable to all channels. Additional Output n tabs (Output 1, Output 2, etc) appear when any setting only applies to a particular channel. Select the appropriate tab to change the settings, which are grouped under the following categories:
- Protection Related Settings
- Mode Related Settings
- Output Related Settings
- Slew Rate Related Settings
- Measure Related Settings
Protection Related Settings
Output Inhibit | Sets the inhibit input mode (Off, Latched or Live). |
Turn off behavior | Sets the output-off status (condition which is set on the channel automatically, immediately after its output is turned off). |
Turn on/off mode (impedance) | Sets the turn-on and turn-off behavior to either low impedance or high impedance mode. When Track is enabled, changing the turn-on setting also changes the turn-off setting and vice versa. |
Protection Coupling | Enables or disables channel coupling for protection faults. Protection coupling lets you couple the outputs so that when a protection fault occurs on one output, ALL outputs will be turned off. |
Sense Fault Detection (SFD) | Enables or disables sense fault detection. |
Under Voltage Protection | Enables under voltage protection with a corresponding voltage level. You can also specify a delay time. |
Watchdog Timer |
Enables or disables the watchdog timer function. Set the watchdog delay time in seconds. |
Mode Related Settings
Operation Mode | Sets the output capability when two independent outputs are being used (Independent, Series, Parallel, or Tracking). |
Tracking Mode | Enables or disables the output tracking mode, only applicable for E3631A and F4 EDU36311A. |
Output Related Settings
Delay Offset | If the Mode setting is Auto, the delay offset is automatically calculated by the firmware based on the outputs that are coupled. To manually program a different delay offset, select Manual and enter the desired value.
Max delay offset displays the maximum delay offset required for all the power modules that are installed. |
Current Bandwidth | Programs the current bandwidth. Only applicable in Current priority mode. Range - Sets the compensation modes to optimize output response time with capacitive loads (Comp0 or Comp1). Programming Pole Frequency/Level - Sets the low-pass filter corner frequency applied to the programming setpoint signal. |
Voltage Bandwidth | Programs the voltage bandwidth. Only applicable in Voltage priority mode. Range - Sets the compensation modes to optimize output response time with capacitive loads (the options available vary according to the model). Programming Pole Frequency/Level - Sets the low-pass filter corner frequency applied to the programming setpoint signal. |
Output Relay | Turns the output relay on or off. |
Output Resistance | Enables output resistance programming and sets the output resistance level. |
Relay Polarity | Select Reverse to reverse the polarity of the output and sense terminals. |
Relay Lock Closed |
Enables or disables the locked-closed state of the output relays.
Polarity – Sets the polarity of the output relays. |
Slew Rate Related Settings
Slew Rate | Select the Max checkbox to set the slew rate to the maximum value allowed. Deselect the checkbox if you wish to enter a specific value. |
Measure Related Settings
Amp-hours/Watt-hours | Click Reset AHWH to reset the amp-hours and watt-hours. |
Under Voltage Limit | Enter the under voltage limit to prevent the voltage from dropping below the value set when battery is discharging. Current priority mode is required for RP7900. |
