IF Frequency Response (Wide IF) Performance Test

This test is to be performed only on analyzers that have Option 123 (Preselector Bypass) AND either Option 122 (80 MHz Bandwidth Digitizer) or Option 140 (40 MHz Bandwidth Digitizer)

The IF Frequency Response test measures the IF frequency response specification. This parameter is measured in order to meet the EVM specification listed for various Digital Comms applications. In this test, a CW signal of fixed amplitude is applied to the input of the PSA. The reference amplitude is measured with the PSA center frequency set to the source frequency. The PSA center frequency is then changed to ten offset frequencies within the span of interest. The signal amplitude is measured on the PSA at each offset frequency. The difference between the amplitude at an offset frequency and the amplitude at the reference frequency is the IF frequency response.

The test is repeated at one IF center frequency for each band.
