The DANL test measures the display average noise level of the instrument and verifies that it meets the published specifications. The 50 ohm RF input is terminated with a 50 ohm load. Amplitude measurements are made at several frequencies. To avoid an incorrect high reading, a check is run to ensure the measurement is not done in the presence of a residual response.
