IF Frequency Response UWBIF Adjustment

This adjustment applies to the following models:

The goal of this adjustment is to generate corrections for the IF band shape. Option MPB (Preselector Bypass) will require adjustments to be performed on band 1 through 4. This adjustment is very limited if Option MPB is not installed in the instrument. Option MPB is necessary because the YTF is a tunable bandpass filter with a nominal bandwidth of 30 MHz to 50 MHz. The bandwidth of the YTF will band limit the IF Frequency Response.

In this adjustment a –9.50 dBm signal is applied to the DUT. A reference amplitude is taken at the IF center frequency. The source frequency is then changed to a series of offset frequencies within the span of the IF. At each offset frequency, the input amplitude is maintained at –9.50 dBm, and the signal amplitude is measured by the DUT. The offset amplitude is subtracted from the reference amplitude. The resulting envelope created by all the offset amplitudes is the uncorrected IF frequency response.

Unlike the other IF paths in X-Series signal analyzers, the 255 MHz IF path does not appear as a path choice if the 510 MHz IF Bandwidth is installed. The instrument firmware automatically selects the 255 MHz path if the span is set to 255 MHz or less.
