IF Frequency Response UWBIF Performance Test

This test applies to the following models:

Wide IF bandwidth options B2X (255 MHz) and B5X (510 MHz) can co-exist along with other bandwidth options. The various IF paths are all unique paths. This test will only be performed at 1.825 GHz and 5.95 GHz. The IF flatness is nominally specified above 8.4 GHz. If Option MPB is installed, then the test is repeated but with 5.95 GHz as the center frequency. Additional (nominally specified) test points are measured in the IF Frequency Response UWBIF Check Utilities under the Utilities menu. It is recommended that both tests be run to see how both the specified and nominal performance look.

In this test a test signal of –10 dBm is applied to the signal analyzer. A reference amplitude is taken at the center frequency. The source frequency is then changed to a series of offset frequencies within the span of interest. At each offset frequency the source amplitude is maintained at –10 dBm, and the amplitude is measured by the signal analyzer. The test will use a buried sensor calibration which is a technique for removing the splitter tracking error. This calibration will store a set of channel B amplitudes which correlate to a channel A amplitude of –10 dBm.
