ALC Mod Driver Calibration (Adjustment)

(N5161A / N5162A / N5181A / N5182A)

The ALC Calibration must be performed prior to this adjustment.

This adjustment calibrates the Open Loop (ALC off) power accuracy. There are two functions with this calibration:

calibrateALCModOffset

This function uses offset to adjust the Mod Offset DAC to minimize the ABUS reading on the RF: ALC_LOOP_INT ABUS node. When this node is set to 0, the ALC loop is summing in 0V correction to open loop feed forward.

ALC Mod Gain Calibration

This function sets the Ref DAC to MIDV +500 and measures the ALC_LOOP_INT ABUS node. Then the Ref DAC is set to MIDV -500 and the ABUS is read again. The Mod Gain array is then adjusted until the ABUS reads the same voltage at both Red DAC settings. When this is achieved, the open loop gain is the same as the closed loop gain.

Connections and Setup Procedures

All test equipment requires a 30 minute warmup period to ensure accurate performance.
