Operator's Check

This is a manual test to diagnose various hardware functionality of the PNA. The test is run by using the Operator's Check service utility installed in the PNA.

The utility can be found in the PNA menu at Utility > System > Service > Verification > Operator's Check. After the utility has run, follow the instructions in TME.

mm-wave PNA models require an additional procedure to be run before running the Operator's Check. This is explained in the next section.

Installation Cal for mm-wave Models

The N5290A and N5291A mm-wave models require an additional procedure to be performed prior to running the Operator's Check. This procedure is called Installation Cal. Similar to the Operator's Check, it is a manual test run through the PNA menu. Follow the steps below to run the Installation Cal.

For default front and rear cabling between the PNA and the test set, refer to Step 2: Prepare the PNA for Testing of the Getting Started Guide.

  1. From the PNA menu, go to Instrument > Setup > External Hardware > Millimeter Config...

  2. Highlight either N5290A Broadband or N5291A Broadband, depending the model of the DUT.

  3. Press Installation Cal... and follow the instructions to complete the procedure.

  4. Run Operator's Check as explained in the previous section.
