Source Power Test

This test applies to the following models:

  • N991xA and N992xA: Port 1 is always tested. Port 2 is only tested if Option 211 is installed.
  • N993xA: Only test Port 1 if Option 220 is installed.

This test checks the power level accuracy and power step accuracy of the NA source.

The power level check is performed for various CW frequencies at -15 dBm. Test limits are based on the typical values for Power Level Accuracy.

Power step accuracy is tested in 5 dB increments. The range of -5 to -40 dBm is checked for 2.9 GHz and 8.95 GHz. The range of -10 to -40 dBm is checked for 17.5 GHz. The test limits are based on measurements made on a population of properly adjusted units.

The E9304A Option H20 power sensor is used below 18 GHz. The N8485A is used above 18 GHz.
