The ALC Control loop in the PXIe signal generator uses PIN diodes as the level adjusting element. Within these diodes are logarithmic circuits that are adjusted by varying the bias voltages. This adjustment process computes the optimal bias voltages of these diode circuits and uses it to obtain the very fine ALC resolution.
