Automatic - Data Subcarrier Modulation Format (802.16 OFDM)

When Automatic (Default) in Data Subcarrier Modulation Format is selected, the VSA uses information detected within the OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. burst to automatically determine the Data Subcarrier Modulation Format. The modulation format is shown in the Subframe Info trace data.

• For the 802.16-2004 OFDM and 802.16a-2003 OFDM signals, the VSA uses the FCH Symbol – RATE_ID field data to determine the Data Subcarrier Modulation Format. See Data Subcarrier Modulation for more information about Auto Detect, FCH and Manual Data Subcarrier Modulation modes.
