Using a Standard Preset (802.16 OFDMA)

Preset to Standard configures the VSA to demodulate and measure a particular OFDMA signal that conforms to a profile of the IEEE Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. A US-based membership organisation that includes engineers, scientists, and students in electronics and related fields. The IEEE developed the 802 series wired and wireless LAN standards. Visit the IEEE at http://www.ieee.org 802.16e OFDMA standard specification. Preset to Standard will configure the Standard, Nominal Bandwidth, and Downlink Frame Ratio parameters to match the specified profile. All other OFDMA parameters will be reset to a default state as described in the following "Preset to Standard Default" tables.

Preset to Standard also defaults to Manual Definition Source mode and a default zone definition, the current manual analysis zone and data burst definitions will be lost.

To configure the VSA. click the Preset to Standard control and select one of the listed OFDMA preset configurations.

1) The 802.16 OFDMA Demodulator must be selected before these Standard Presets are available.

2) For a description of the Standard profiles, see the Standard parameter topic.

Definition Type (defining bursts) FCH CDMA Code Division Multiple Access: One of several digital wireless transmission methods in which signals are encoded using a specific pseudo-random sequence, or code, to define a communication channel. A receiver, knowing the code, can use it to decode the received signal in the presence of other signals in the channel. This is one of several "spread spectrum" techniques, which allows multiple users to share the same radio frequency spectrum by assigning each active user an unique code. CDMA offers improved spectral efficiency over analog transmission in that it allows for greater frequency reuse. Other characteristics of CDMA systems reduce dropped calls, increase battery life and offer more secure transmission. See also IS-95. and FFB

Enable Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD): To avoid unintentional beamforming, the IEEE 802.11n draft standard uses a process known as Cyclic Delay Diversity (CDD), which basically offsets each spatial stream by a different constant, non-coherent delay. The offset considerably lowers the likelihood of correlated signals being transmitted by two or more antennas. This, in conjunction with a pseudorandom scrambler run over the transmitted data bits, ensures that the likelihood of two spatial streams correlating is very low.) Measurement cleared cleared
