PN Offset (cdma2000/1xEV-DV)

Default: 0 x64 chips (see cdma2000/1xEV-DV Standard Setups/Presets Table)

Range: 0 to 511 (x64)

PN Offsetspecifies the PN 1) part number, or 2) packet number Sequence Offset Index in units of 64 PN chips of a pilot relative to the zero offset pilot PN sequence.

Pilot channels are identified by an offset index in the range from 0 through 511 inclusive. This offset specifies the offset value (in units of 64 chips) of the pilot PN sequence from the zero offset pilot PN sequence. (cdma2000 forward link only)

This selection is available only for Forward link only.

BTS Synchronization

The cdma2000/1xEV-DV forward channel contains one or more code channels that are transmitted on a cdma2000/1xEV-DV frequency assignment using a particular pilot PN offset. Base stations may vary the PN offset to reduce interference from neighboring cells. The VSA can lock to a signal even if the VSA's PN Offset is not the same as the measured signal. However, the T Trigger value reported by the VSA may be incorrect unless the VSA PN Offset matches the measured signal.
