Export Stimulus Waveform (Channel Quality)

The Export Stimulus Waveform parameters enable you to save, download and apply predistortion to the stimulus waveform.

Save to File... Saves a waveform based on the current Multitone Stimulus tone definition. This waveform can then be downloaded to a signal generator using PathWave Signal Generation (PWSG) – Advanced Waveform Utility (AWU).

Download to Source downloads the stimulus waveform to a signal generator. If you have selected a source in the Source menu, the Download to Source button will be enabled and can be used to download the stimulus directly to the source. Note that this will connect to the source and download the waveform, but will preserve the state of other source settings.

When downloading to a multi-channel source, the same waveform will be downloaded to all enabled channels. This means if you use the Predistort feature, the waveform downloaded to all channels will be predistorted using the data from measurement Ch1, instead of each channel's waveform being predistorted by the corresponding measurement channel.

Predistort for Current Channel Response determines whether to precompensate the waveform for the current channel response. You can enable this, download to source again, and verify that the channel response is indeed being compensated by the computed Inverse response (see Inverse traces).

The sample rate of the waveform is related to 1.28 * (Number of Tones – 1) * (Tone Spacing). The waveform file is readable by MATLAB and there is a variable XDelta that indicates the sample period (sample rate = 1/XDelta).
