Error Vect vs. Sym (Sample overlay) (Custom OFDM)

Error Vect vs. Sym (Sample overlay) trace shows the value of the error vector for each point in the pre-OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. time grid (sample x OFDM symbol). The value shown is usually EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format., but you can also choose other Trace Formats.

This trace contains the same data as the Error Vect vs. Sample (Sym overlay) trace, except that the data is viewed with OFDM symbols on the x-axis and samples on the z-axis (overlay axis). See the Error Vect vs. Sample (Sym overlay) topic for more information about the data in both traces.

This trace is computed from the input to the N-point FFT Fast Fourier Transform: A mathematical operation performed on a time-domain signal to yield the individual spectral components that constitute the signal. See Spectrum., as compared to the other Error Vect traces. See Error Vect vs. Sym (Carrier overlay) for a diagram, and notice the N-point FFT block ("N-FFT").
