Enable Droop Compensation (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

Default: Selected

Enable Droop Compensation configures the demodulator to compensate the signal for amplitude variations across a burst before calculating error vectors. This correction is performed on the IQ Meas Time trace data after demodulation.

Amplitude droop compensation is enabled when Enable Droop Compensation is selected.

Comparing the difference in IQ Mag Error with Enable Droop Compensation on and off might be useful to see whether there are power amplifier problems.

To compare the difference:

  1. Disable Enable Droop Compensation.
  2. Store a copy of the IQ Mag Error trace into a register.
  3. Configure the VSA to show the trace in the register.
  4. Select Enable Droop Compensation.
  5. Overlay the IQ Mag Error trace (with Enable Droop Compensation enabled) on top of the copy of the IQ Mag Error trace in the register (with Enable Droop Compensation disabled)
