95% EVM (GSM/EDGE/EDGE Evolution)

95% EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. is the error-vector-magnitude (EVM) below which 95% of the individual symbol EVMs occur.

For example: At 200 averages, with each measurement containing 142 symbols, there would be symbol EVMs for a total of 200 ´ 142 symbols. The 95% EVM is the EVM for which 200 ´ 142 ´ 0.95 symbols have lower EVMs, or 200 ´ 142 ´ 0.05 have higher EVMs.
