Time Reference (Graph Settings)

Time Reference determines whether the time axis of a Graph trace corresponds to other graph traces or to the original data before compensation. The time axis is not visible by default on the AM Amplitude Modulation - CW modulation using amplitude variation in proportion to the amplitude of the modulating signal. Usually taken as DSB-LC for commercial broadcast transmissions and DSB-SC for multiplexed systems./AM, AM/PM, and Gain Compression traces, but each point has an underlying time value which is affected by the Time Reference parameter.

The following selections are available:

None - the time axis of the Graph trace is relative to the first point compared between stimulus and response data (first point = 0 ms).

When you want to compare Graph traces that all have the same stimulus/response data and compensation settings, select None so that the time axes will match between Graph traces.
Stimulus - the time axis of the Graph trace is relative to the original stimulus data selected for the trace (0 ms on stimulus data trace = 0 ms on Graph trace).

When you want to correlate points on a Graph trace to points in the original stimulus time data, select Stimulus. The time axes will then correspond.
Response - same as selecting Stimulus for Time Reference, except that the Graph trace's time axis is relative to the response time data.
