Acquisition Menu

The Acquisition menu selects and configures one or more input channels and selects the data source, as described below:

This menu item…

Does this…

Data

Select whether the measurement's time data source is Hardware or Recording.

Channels

Select the input channel configuration.

Amplitude...

Set the input channel parameters.

External Mixer...

Configure the external mixer when an External Mixer input channel is selected.

Extended Settings...

The HW-Specific Extensions dialog is used to configure the measurement hardware platform (front-end). This dialog contains parameters specific to the current measurement platform, see About Extensions.

Trigger...

Select the type of trigger signal to use for an input channel (non-Power Spectrum measurements only)

Segmented Capture...

Set the time-domain parameters for fixed-length and variable-length segmented time-captures.

Other Tabs in the Analyzer Dialog

Digital...

Set the digital input properties for a logic analyzer.

Gate Trigger...

Set up a gate trigger when making Power Spectrum measurements.

Playback Trigger...

Set up a trigger signal for recordings.

User Correction...

Configure corrections to compensate for external devices connected to the input of the measurement hardware (Data From Hardware).

Playback User Correction...

Configure corrections to apply to a recorded signal during playback (Data From Recording).

IQ Noise Correction...

Compensate the acquired signal such that the measured EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. will not include the contribution from the analysis hardware.

Player Window

Open the Player Window which can be used to control playback of a recorded signal.

Recording/Playback...

Open the Recording dialog box to configure recording length, set start and stop times, and view information about the recording.

Control

Start, pause, stop, sweep and record measurements.
