Recall Trace (Save and Recall)

Any saved trace can be recalled into a data register (to learn how to save a trace, see Saving and Recalling Traces), as follows:

  1. From the File menu, click Recall > Recall Trace
  2. In the resulting dialog box, select the trace that to recall.
  3. Click Open, which the opens the Recall Trace to dialog box.
  4. Select a data register (D1, D2, ...) to hold the trace.
  5. Select the Display in active trace check box when to show the contents of the selected data register in the active trace.

When Display in active trace is selected, the contents of the data register will replace the active trace when OK is clicked (next step).

  6. Click OK.

For some trace file formats, traces can be saved with or without a data header. To recall a trace, be sure to save it with the data header. The data header includes settings the VSA needs to correctly recreate the saved waveform (such as resolution bandwidth, windowing function, and X and Y units).
