Moving Avg. Filter (LTE)
Uplink: Cleared, 19 RS
Downlink: Selected, 19 RS
1-399 RS
specifies whether or not to perform a moving average (frequency smoothing) on the reference signal (RS) subcarrier content during equalization, as well as the number of reference signal subcarriers to use in each average.
A reference signal (RS) subcarrier equates to a cell-specific reference signal (C-RS Cell-specific RS) subcarrier for the downlink PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel transmission case, and a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS DeModulation Reference Signal (LTE)) subcarrier for the uplink PUSCH Physical Uplink Shared Channel transmission case.
This parameter is only available for both uplink and downlink signals.
When Equalizer Training is set to , a value of 5 RS means the correction for a RS subcarrier is calculated as the average of the correction for that subcarrier and the correction values of the next two and previous two RS subcarriers in frequency.
When Equalizer Training is set to , data subcarriers (PDSCH) in between the RS subcarriers are included in the average. For example, a setting of 3 RS would mean that the correction of a RS subcarrier would be taken as the average that includes the next and previous RS subcarrier in frequency and all data subcarriers that are in between the next and previous RS subcarriers.
For RS subcarrier locations that do not have enough RS subcarriers to one side or the other (those near the edge of the frequency spectrum), the average is taken over available RS subcarriers.
