Moving Avg. Filter (LTE)

Default: Cleared, 19 RS

Range: 1-399 RS

Moving Avg. Filter specifies whether or not to perform a moving average (frequency smoothing) on the cell-specific reference signal (C-RS Cell-specific RS) during equalization, as well as the number of C-RS subcarriers to use in each average.

This parameter is only available for downlink signals.

When Equalizer Training is set to RS, a value of 5 RS means the correction for a C-RS subcarrier is calculated as the average of the correction for that subcarrier and the correction values of the next two and previous two C-RS subcarriers in frequency.

When Equalizer Training is set to RS+Data, data subcarriers (PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel) in between the C-RS subcarriers are included in the average. For example, a setting of 3 RS would mean that the correction of a C-RS subcarrier would be taken as the average that includes the next and previous C-RS subcarrier in frequency and all data subcarriers that are in between the next and previous C-RS subcarriers.

For C-RS subcarrier locations that do not have enough C-RS subcarriers to one side or the other (those near the edge of the frequency spectrum), the average is taken over available C-RS subcarriers.
