PUCCH (LTE)

PUCCH Physical Uplink Control Channel is the Physical Uplink Control Channel and carries uplink control information including channel quality info, acknowledgements, and scheduling requests.

When RB Auto Detect is selected, Frame Summary will show information about all detected PUCCH signals that match the PUCCH parameters in the LTE Allocation Editor. This information is located in the PUCCH row for User01.

When RB Auto Detect is cleared, Frame Summary will show information about PUCCH in the PUCCH row for the user currently selected for analysis and show "---" for the other users' PUCCH rows, since the demodulator can only analyze one user at a time.

PUCCH allocations can be defined in the LTE Allocation Editor.

The modulation type depends on the PUCCH type.

PUCCH Type

Modulation Type

Type1

Type1Short

On/Off keying

Type1a

Type1aShort

BPSK Binary phase shift keying - A type of phase modulation using 2 distinct carrier phases to signal ones and zeros.

Type1b

Type1bShort

QPSK Quadrature phase shift keying
Type2 QPSK
Type2a QPSK/BPSK
Type2b QPSK/BPSK

PUCCH types 2a and 2b are only available when CP Length is set to Normal.

Each uplink user can have one RB Resource Block per slot allocated to PUCCH. Allocations are made on a subframe basis where the PUCCH RB allocation in the second slot in a subframe is frequency mirrored version of the RB allocation of the first slot in the subframe. For example, when RB 0 in slot 2 is allocated for a user's PUCCH signal in a 5 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second. signal (25 RBs), RB 24 will be allocated for PUCCH for the same user in slot 3.
