EVM Window and Symbol Timing (5G NR/5G-Advanced)

EVM Window Length Mode - Selects the method of determining the EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. window length.

3GPP - Uses the 3GPP standard EVM window length.

Custom - Sets a custom EVM window length.

Default: 3GPP

Choices: 3GPP, Custom

EVM Window Length in Samples - When EVM Window Length Mode is set to Custom, sets the EVM window length in samples.

Default: 172 samples

Range: 1 to 288 samples (normal CP 1) Contention period, or 2) Cyclic prefix mode), 1 to 1024 (extended CP mode)

Symbol Time Adjustment Mode - Selects the method of determining where within the cyclic prefix IFFT Inverse Fast Fourier Transform begins.

Max of EVM Window Start/End - Uses the maximum value of the EVM window based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

Min of EVM Window Start/End - Uses the minimum value of the EVM window based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

EVM Window Start - Uses the start value of the EVM window based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

EVM Window End - Uses the end value of the EVM window based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

EVM Window Center - Uses the center value of the EVM window based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

% of FFT Fast Fourier Transform: A mathematical operation performed on a time-domain signal to yield the individual spectral components that constitute the signal. See Spectrum. Size - Uses a percentage of the IFFT duration based on the EVM Window Length Mode selection (3GPP or Custom).

Default: % of FFT Size

Choices: Max of EVM Window Start/End, Min of EVM Window Start/End, EVM Window Start, EVM Window End, EVM Window Center, % of FFT Size

% of FFT Duration - When Symbol Time Adjustment Mode is set to % of FFT Size, determines where within the cyclic prefix IFFT begins as a percentage of the IFFT duration.

0% corresponds to the end of the cyclic prefix. This value will be limited internally to be compatible with the cyclic prefix (CP) of the analyzed signal. In the case of Extended CP, the minimum used value is -25 . In the case of Normal CP, the minimum used value is -7.03125 .

Default: -3.125%

Range: -0 to -25%
