Apply Test Model (5G NR/5G-Advanced)
opens the Apply Test Model dialog which allows you to select a predefined test model and customize it for your testing needs. This dialog is only available for downlink signals.

Default: Latest (2023-03)
Choices: Latest (2023-03), 15.1.0 (2019-03), 15.2.0 (2019-06), 15.4.0 (2019-12), 16.4.0 (2020-06), 17.5.0 (2022-03), 17.7.0 (2022-09), 17.9.0 (2023-03)
Carrier Indexes - Applies the test model to one or more carriers by carrier index.
When Allow Multiple Carrier Definitions is disabled, the Carrier Indexes field is read-only and the test model is applied to all carriers.
When Allow Multiple Carrier Definitions is enabled, you can specify the carrier(s) to which the test model is applied.
Example:
Carrier Indexes = 0,2,4:6
Test model will be applied to carriers 0, 2, 4, 5 and 6
Default: 0
Range: 0 - number of carriers configured
Bandwidth - Sets the frequency range and bandwidth for the test model.
This value determines the set of valid Numerology that can be used by a resource allocation within the carrier.
Default: FR1 100 MHz Megahertz: A unit of frequency equal to one million hertz or cycles per second.
Choices: FR1 5 MHz, FR1 10 MHz, FR1 15 MHz, FR1 20 MHz, FR1 25 MHz, FR1 30 MHz, FR1 35 MHz, FR1 40 MHz, FR1 45 MHz, FR1 50 MHz, FR1 60 MHz, FR1 70 MHz, FR1 80 MHz, FR1 90 MHz, FR1 100 MHz, FR2 50 MHz, FR2 100 MHz, FR2 200 MHz, FR2 400 MHz, FR2-2 800 MHz, FR2-2 1600 MHz, FR2-2 2000 MHz
Duplex Type - Sets the duplex type for the test model.
Choices: TDD, FDD Frequency Division Duplex: A duplex scheme in which uplink and downlink transmissions use different frequencies but are typically simultaneous. (FR1 Bandwidths only)
Numerology - Sets the numerology for the test model.
Default: µ = 1:30 kHz kiloHertz: A radio frequency measurement (one kilohertz = one thousand cycles per second).
Choices: Available choices depend on the selected Bandwidth
Test Model - Selects the test model from a list of predefined test models. Available choices depend on the selected 3GPP version and Bandwidth (FR1 or FR2).
Default: TM1.1
Choices:
3GPP Version = Latest (2022-09), 16.4.0 (2020-06), 17.7.0 (2022-09):
Bandwidth = FR1: TM1.1, TM1.2, TM2.0, TM2.0a, TM2.0b, TM3.1, TM3.1a, TM3.1b, TM3.2, TM3.3
Bandwidth = FR2: TM1.1, TM2.0, TM2.0a, TM2.0b, TM3.1, TM3.1a, TM3.1b
3GPP Version = 15.1.0 (2019-03), 15.2.0 (2019-06), 15.4.0 (2019-12):
Bandwidth = FR1: TM1.1, TM1.2, TM2.0, TM2.0a, TM2.0b, TM3.1, TM3.1a, TM3.1b, TM3.2, TM3.3
Bandwidth = FR2: TM1.1, TM2.0, TM3.1
Number of layers - (Test Model 1.1 only) Sets the number of PDSCH Physical Downlink Shared Channel layers for Test Model 1.1.
Default: OneLayer
Choices: OneLayer, TwoLayers
Map PDSCH in PDCCH Symbols - When enabled, maps the PDSCH to the PDCCH (the first symbol of every slot).
By default, the PDSCH will start from the second symbol, not mapped to the PDCCH symbols. When Map PDSCH in PDCCH Symbols is checked (enabled), the PDSCH starts from the first symbol, and the rate will match around the PDCCH on the first symbol.
When a 3GPP Version other than 15.1.0 (2019-03) is selected, Map PDSCH in PDCCH Symbols is always enabled and the parameter is grayed out. |
Default: Disabled
Choices: Disabled, Enabled
Enable Power Balance PDSCH - When enabled and applicable, power is measured across multiple PDSCHs.
For TM1.2, TM3.2 and TM3.3, there are two PDSCHs defined for these three test models. EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format. is calculated for the first PDSCH, and the second PDSCH is added for power imbalance. By default, the VSA adds both PDSCHs, but the second PDSCH is disabled so that the EVM is only for the first PDSCH. When Enable Power Balance PDSCH is checked (enabled), the second PDSCH is also enabled and measured.
This check box is grayed out for all other test models.
Default: Disabled
Choices: Disabled, Enabled
Apply - Click to apply the settings in the Apply Test Model dialog to the measurement.
