ESA Two-Channel Cabling

Two Keysight ESA analyzers can be used to perform 2-channel RF Radio Frequency: A generic term for radio-based technologies, operating between the Low Frequency range (30k Hz) and the Extra High Frequency range (300 GHz). measurements.

Setup an Analyzer Configuration:

  1. Open the New Hardware Configuration dialog box (Utilities > Hardware > Configurations > Add button ).

  2. Select the ESA to use from the list of Possible Logical Instruments. Drag the ESA selection to the Configuration window or click the arrow button. This will be the primary ESA.

  3. Select a second ESA from the list of Possible Logical Instruments. Drag the ESA selection to the Configuration window or click the arrow button.

  4. In step 2 of the New Hardware Configuration dialog box, select the specific ESA to use for each Logical Instrument in this configuration.
  5. Name the configuration in step 3. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Select this Analyzer Configuration as the Current Analyzer Configuration in the Configurations tab.

Connect cables as shown in the following illustration. Note that the frequency reference and optional trigger signal must be connected to the primary ESA.
