Threshold (Pulse)

Menu Path: MeasSetup > Pulse Properties > Pulse Detection

The Threshold value on the Pulse Detection tab determines when a pulse is detected. The top of a pulse must exceed the threshold in order to be detected. The threshold is defined in dB, relative to the defined Reference, or as an absolute threshold in dBm deciBels referenced to a milliWatt: dB relative to 1 milliwatt dissipated in the nominal input impedance of the analyzer.

You can specify Threshold as a relative offset (dB) value when Reference is set to Relative To Top Level, Relative to Base Level or Relative to Range selections.

Alternatively you can directly specify Threshold as an absolute (dBm) value when Reference is set to Absolute.

The final absolute Pulse Detection Threshold (dBm) level used is reported in the Summary table.
