CPE (802.11a/g/j/p OFDM)
CPE (Common Pilot Error) is the RMS level of the Common Pilot Error trace data minus 1 expressed as a percentage of an ideal signal. Ideally the trace data has a magnitude of one and phase of zero. The CPE represents the deviation of the trace from the ideal and shows how much the OFDM Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing: OFDM employs multiple overlapping radio frequency carriers, each operating at a carefully chosen frequency that is Orthogonal to the others, to produce a transmission scheme that supports higher bit rates due to parallel channel operation. OFDM is an alternative tranmission scheme to DSSS and FHSS. burst drifts over time.
