How to break a receiver lock

This feature allows you to manually release the lock on a receiver currently locked by a measurement session thereby enabling its use for other measurement sessions. This feature is particularly useful in situations such as when a measurement session becomes unresponsive and you are not able to use the receiver in use for that session.

If possible, it is recommended that you stop the measurement for which the receiver is in use before breaking the lock for the receiver. The Use By column in the Setup tab shows this information.
  1. Click on the Setup tab to access the receiver that is currently locked.

  2. The Lock column in the receivers table displays the Break button for each receiver. This button is applicable and enabled only if the receiver is In Use.
  3. Click the Break button displayed in the receiver row to break the lock for that receiver.

  4. Click Yes on the message screen to confirm the action.

  5. Restart the KSMS application to ensure that the receiver is available for new measurements.
