After downloading the waveform, the signal generator displays error: Baseband Generator DAC over range.
Cause: The number of frames and some baseband filter selections (such as NONE) can result in a high crest factor, causing digital to analog converter (DAC) overflow.
Solution: Reduce the runtime scaling value. For example, 50 percent or less.
After downloading the waveform, the signal generator front panel keys do not work.
Cause: Downloading the waveform places the signal generator in remote operation, which deactivates the front panel operation.
Solution: On the signal generator, press the Local key to restore front panel operation.
After clicking Download in the tool bar, the signal generator does not play the waveform.
Cause: The configured bursts may exceed the length of the defined frame or the size of the generated waveform may exceed the Arb memory.
Solution: Click Check Parameters in the tool bar to verify that the configured bursts do not exceed the length of the defined frame. If the message "Defined frame exceeds the maximum frame length" appears in the status bar, you will need to modify the frame parameters.
In some configurations, the generated waveform size exceeds 8 Msamples. In this case, it isn't possible to transfer the waveform into the ESG or PSG with Options 001 or 601. Use an ESG or PSG with Options 002 or 602 for more waveform memory.
After clicking Download in the tool bar, or either Test Connection or Test All Connections in the Instruments window, an Authorization dialog box or license error message appears.
Cause: A license file for a signal generator being used cannot be found on the PC or in the instrument.
Solution: The software requires a license to be fully functional. You must have either a permanent license or a non-expired 14-day trial license for each signal generator being used. Make sure that any permanent license file is in the directory: C:\Program Files\Agilent\Signal Generation License Files\Drop on your computer. To get a free 14-day trial license or purchase a permanent license, see Licensing.
After clicking Test Connection or Test All Connections, "FW version is not valid" appears in the Note column of the Instruments window.
Cause: The current firmware version of the signal generator needs to be upgraded.
Solution: See System Requirements for the required firmware.
When using an N5162A MXG ATE or N5182A MXG signal generator, the software displays a data out-of-range error message.
Cause: The MXG/MXG ATE and ESG/PSG signal generators support different ranges for some parameters.
Solution: Refer to Signal Generator Settings for detailed information on supported parameter ranges when using an ESG/PSG or MXG/MXG ATE signal generator.
In some instances,
when running the software on an N9020A MXA signal analyzer that has a
Microsoft
Cause: The N7613A software is not a supported application in the N9020A MXA signal analyzer windows environment.
Solution: Install the software and the corresponding license on a separate PC connected to the signal generator. Refer to Equipment Setup and Connection Test to verify your setup.
