Query Syntax

:MEASure:JITTerN:JITTer:FOVer2?

Where N identifies one of four possible jitter/noise analyses {1:4}. For example, JITTer4.

Description

This query returns F/2 (pk) (also known as Even/Odd) jitter which occurs as the result of timing data with a half-rate clock. If the clock is asymmetric, then even bits versus odd bits will differ in length from the nominal.

F/2 jitter is measured as the absolute value of the difference between the even and odd bit edge positions, relative to the ideal edge position, in seconds as a peak value.

BERTs may set up F/2 jitter as a peak-to-peak value (that is, a difference between even and odd bit widths) which would be double the peak value reported by the oscilloscope.

The F/2 jitter is reported only when the pattern is periodic, not when it is arbitrary.
