RemoveCable/RemoveProbe Overview
The RemoveCable and RemoveProbe deembedding calibration wizards provide an AC response calibration for the oscilloscope.
Cable and probe deembedding calibration and compensation is important for accurate measurements.
The RemoveCable and RemoveProbe calibration wizards (and the required cables and adapters) give you the most accurate cable compensation and probe compensation when an S-parameter file is not included the probe.
These wizards let you:
-
Quickly compensate for an individual cable's inherent loss or an individual probe's inherent loss.
-
Perfectly match every cable or probe on your circuit.
-
Compensate for custom probes and probe heads.
-
Correct for an individual probe's phase linearity, magnitude flatness, and impedance.
-
Gain insight into the impedance and capacitance that defines the connection to your Device Under Test.
The RemoveCable and RemoveProbe calibration wizards take advantage of a fast edge stimulus signal to properly characterize cables and probes out to the required bandwidth. Depending on the oscilloscope's bandwidth, fast edge stimulus sources are either supplied on the oscilloscope's Cal Out and Aux Out outputs or an external calibration (or optimization) module.
