You can access the web page installed in the E4990A by using the hypertext transfer protocol (http) and the E4990A's IP address from the external PC's web browser. This function is called web-enabled analyzer. Through the built-in web page, you can control the E4990A remotely and display the measurement screen on external PCs.
Check IP address of the E4990A by pressing System > Misc Setup > Network Setup > LAN Dialog....
Execute web browser on your PC.
Enter IP address of the E4990A in the address bar and press Enter.
Click Login and enter the password (Default: "Keysight").
You can use the following functions.
Control Instrument: Send the SCPI commands.
Get Image: Get the screen image.
Transfer Data: Get the measurement Data.
Configuration LAN: Configure the LAN seup.
The VNC allows you to control the instrument through VNC viewer.
The following is a description of how to start the VNC server configuration.
Press System > Misc Setup > Network Setup.
Click VNC Server Configuration to start the VNC Server Properties.
To restrict external access, set a password for the VNC server configuration. The default password at factory shipment is "Keysight".
This function is available on Storage Revision RF4xx and below.

To use web server, you have to configure the E4990A's network correctly. For detailed information on configuration and notes, see Configuring the Network.
Enable the web server for the E4990A so that it may allow access from an external PC. Follow these steps:
Press System > Misc Setup > Network Setup > Enable [ON].
Press System > Misc Setup > Network Setup > Mode > Web Server.
It is not possible to turn on both Web server and Socket server at the same time.
When these softkey are disabled, it is not necessary to enable and specify this.
