Overview

Global power limit sets the maximum source power level for individual ports.

This value limits the port power for all channels and all applications. Power levels that attempt to exceed the power limit is clipped at the defined global power limit.

Preset does not change the global power limit setting.

This setting also cannot be saved or recalled. For more information, see Saving and Recalling Instrument State.

Setting Global Power Limit

Follow the procedure below to save set the global power limit for an individual port on the E5072A .

  1. Press System.

  2. Click Misc Setup > Power Limit Setup > Port 1|Port 2.

  3. Click Enable to toggle between ON and OFF.

  4. Click Max Power, then enter the maximum global power limit value.

Once the maximum global power limit is set, the maximum power level set for an individual port (Sweep Setup > Power > Receiver Leveling > Port 1|Port 2 > ON > Max Port Power) can be set only within the defined maximum global power limit. See Receiver Leveling.
