Host Start Up Log

Last Updated: August 29, 2007

The HostStartupLog starts when the E6601A Wireless Communications Test Set Program begins. The HOST Processor monitors the boot up process for correct operation. The information generated during the boot up is written to the HostStartupLog.

The HOST Processor triggers the Real Time Processor boot by releasing it from reset. Information from the PowerupStatus file is included in the HostStartupLog. The HostStartupLog indicates that the Real Time Processor is booting by displaying 'waiting......' in the log. If the Real Time Processor is not detected after 60 seconds the process will restart. The Real Time Processor will make three attempts to boot before generating an error.

After the Real Time Processor boot has started the Real Time Processor communicates with the real time hardware. The real time hardware has 10 minutes to complete its report to the Real Time Processor. After 10 minutes the Real Time Processor boot will restart. The Real Time Processor will make three attempts to connect to the real time hardware before generating and error.

The Real Time Processor writes 'APP READY' to the HostStartupLog and the PowerupStatus file when the boot process is complete.

After the Real Time Processor has booted the E6601A Wireless Communications Test Set Program initializes all applications available for that revision. The last active application is shown on the test set's display.

Applications that are available for the E6601A Wireless Communication Test Set Program are listed  in the HostStartupLog each application requires a license to operate. Additional applications may be available by upgrading your revision of the E6601A Wireless Communication Test Set Program.

When the HostStartupLog has completed the HOST Processor writes 'APPLICATION READY' to the HostStartupLog.

The HostStartupLog archives each file by name, date and the number of seconds since midnight. The HostStartupLog is kept for 30 days before they are deleted.
