Hardware Settings

Click Hardware in the tree view to display read-only information about the system hardware. Expanding the Hardware node in the tree view reveals the Instrument node, which opens a window where you can change various instrument settings, such as frequency and amplitude.

If you are using an inter-band setup, however, expanding the Hardware node reveals Inter-band nodes. Clicking an Inter-band node displays exactly the same read-only information as the Hardware node. Expanding an Inter-band node reveals the Instrument nodes that access individual instrument settings.

For information about using the software to change instrument settings:

When using a simulated signal generator connection, <Simulated Hardware> appears in the Name cell and <Simulated MXG/EXG/ESG/PSG Signal Generator> appears in the Connection cell. N/A appears in most of the other cells.

Run Self-Tests

Click the Run Self-Tests button to run a test of the I/O interface connection between the instrument and the PC. Run Self-Tests performs the same tests as the Test I/O Connections button.

The Self-Tests Closedwindow appears and displays the results of the tests. Closing the test dialog window also closes the hardware node and opens the waveform setup node.

If an error occurs, a Closedred X appears next to the failed test and an error message is displayed in the status area.

Test I/O Connections

Click the Test I/O Connections button to run a test of the I/O interface connection between the instrument and the PC. Test I/O Connections performs the same tests as the Run Self-Tests button.

The Test I/O Connections Closedwindow appears and displays the results of the tests. Closing the test dialog window also closes the hardware node and opens the waveform setup node.

If an error occurs, a Closedred X appears next to the failed I/O connection and an error message is displayed in the status area.
