UL RMC Wizard Window (Uplink)

To set up a UL Reference Measurement Channel (RMC), for an Advanced LTE TDD Uplink carrier, click the Wizard button in the Uplink Setup node for the LTE or LTE-A standards to open the UL RMC Wizard. The following RMC Wizard window represents a superset of the LTE and LTE-A parameters, and some parameters are only valid for the Advanced LTE and Advanced LTE-A carriers (e.g. UE Category).

UL RMC Configuration

System Bandwidth

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the system bandwidth and number of resource blocks for the fixed reference channel.

Modulation

Choice: QPSK | 16QAM

Default: QPSK

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the modulation for the reference measurement channel.

Allocated Resource Blocks

Allocated Resource Blocks

Choice: 1 | 2 | 5 | 6 | 8 | 10 | 15 | 18 | 20 | 24 | 25

Default: 25

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the allocated resource blocks for the reference measurement channel. Choice parameters depend on System Bandwidth and Modulation.

RB Position

Choice: Lower End | Upper End

Default: Lower End

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the resource block (RB) position for the reference measurement channel.

Lower End: PUSCH RBs are placed lower frequency end of system bandwidth.

Upper End: PUSCH RBs are placed upper frequency end of system bandwidth.

UE Category (Advanced LTE-A only)

Choice: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

Default: 5

System Bandwidth = 10MHz (50RB), Modulation = 16QAM and Allocated Resource Blocks = 30 or 36 or 50 case

Choice: 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

System Bandwidth = 15MHz (75RB), Modulation = 16QAM and Allocated Resource Blocks = 75 case

Choice: 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

System Bandwidth = 20MHz (100RB), Modulation = 16QAM and Allocated Resource Blocks = 75 or 100 case

Choice: 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

All other case     

Choice: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

If UE Category = 5 case, Set Support 64QAM = on. Otherwise set Support 64QAM = off

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the UE Category for the reference measurement channel. Choice parameters depend on System Bandwidth, Modulation and Allocation Resource Blocks.

UE Category 5 case, the parameter Support 64QAM is set on. Otherwise off.

Reference Channel for...

Channel Bandwidth 

Displays the channel bandwidth of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Allocated Resource Blocks

Display the allocated resource blocks of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

For more details, refer to 3GPP TS 36.521-1.

Uplink-Downlink Configuration

Displays the allocated resource blocks.

DFT-OFDM Symbols per Subframe

Displays the DFT-OFDM symbols per sub-frame of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Modulation

Choice: QPSK | 16QAM

Default: QPSK

Double-click or use the drop-down menu to set the modulation for the reference measurement channel.

Target Code Rate 

Displays the target coding rate of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Payload Size (bits)

Displays the payload size of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Transport Block CRC (bits) 

Displays the transport block CRC of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Number of Code Blocks

Displays the number of code blocks - C.

Total Number of Bits per Subframe

Displays the number of code blocks per sub-frame of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

Total Symbols per Subframe

Display the total symbols per sub-frame of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.

UE Category 

Displays the UE category of UL reference measurement channel based on above RMC configurations. This is a read only parameter.
