Before installing the license file, save a backup copy in a safe place.
Two methods of installing the license are described below.
If you are not using a PC connected to the PXB, you must use a USB storage device to install the license, see Using a USB Storage Device.
If you are using a PC connected to the PXB to install the license remotely, see Using Keysight License Manager on a PC Connected to the PXB.
You can manually install the license in the PXB using a USB storage device.
Copy the license file to a USB storage device. The license file is attached to the email message you received when you redeemed your license.
Insert the storage device into a USB port on the front panel of the PXB.
Wait a few seconds for the license to be copied to the hard drive. A popup message from Keysight License Manager (KLM) appears on the PXB front panel that shows the license model number and version with the following message: "Successful License Installation."
Remove the USB storage device.
If a USB storage device is not available, you can install the license using the Keysight License Manager (KLM) on a PC that is connected to the PXB through a LAN connection. This method requires that the PXB and PC have the same version of KLM installed.
Verify that the same version of KLM resides on both the PXB and the PC.
Click
> > > .Establish a LAN connection between the PC running the Keysight License Manager software and the PXB. For information on connecting or configuring the PC or PXB, see Equipment Setup and Connection.
Copy the license file to the hard drive on your PC. The license file has a .lic extension, and is attached to the email message you received when you redeemed your license.
Obtain the IP address of your PXB. In the PXB user interface, click
> and view the Machine Name row.On your PC, use the KLM software to install the license file in your instrument. Refer to the KLM help for specific instructions.
