Signal Generator

Front panel keys do not work

Downloading the waveform places the signal generator in the remote operation mode and deactivates front panel operation. On the signal generator, press the Local key to restore front panel operation.

Error messages

  1. Check the signal generator for error messages; if possible, correct the conditions indicated by the messages.

    When a setting conflict (error) occurs, an error number and a brief message appear at the bottom of the signal generator display. To view the full text of the error messages use the method shown for your instrument:

    ESG:

    Press Utility > Error Info on the signal generator front panel to view error messages on the display. 

    Execute the SCPI error commands described in the System Subsystem section of the SCPI Reference manual.

    MXG/EXG:

    Press the Error hardkey on the signal generator front panel to view error messages on the display.

  2. Refer to the instrument's documentation for further troubleshooting information.

  3. Contact a Keysight Technologies Service Center.

PXB

Error messages

"Instrument is not configured correctly for proper download and Playback"

This error is displayed when the PXB is not configured to accept an ARB waveform file or if not enough BBG resources are available. Check the following possible causes:

  1. Confirm that you have loaded the correct configuration on the PXB.

  2. Confirm that the loaded configuration contains the correct number of BBGs. For example, if Signal Studio is set up to download two waveform files for 2X2 MIMO, the loaded PXB configuration must contain at least two BBGs.

“Download is not allowed while Instrument is in Play state. Press “Stop” on Instrument”

You cannot download waveforms from Signal Studio to the PXB while the PXB is playing a waveform.

Press the Stop button on the PXB to stop the currently playing waveform before downloading waveforms from Signal Studio.
