Before this adjustment is performed, the IF Flatness adjustment and Amplitude adjustment must already be successfully complete. |
This adjustment determines the output power of the tracking generator (TG) at several frequencies throughout the TG’s range. The frequencies chosen are the same as those used in the Amplitude adjustment. The TG output is measured using another spectrum analyzer connected to the CSA's RF OUTPUT via a high-quality, low-loss cable.

|
The cable used should be checked periodically to ensure that it has less than 1.0 dB loss over the range 10 MHz to 6 GHz. |
The TG (or source) is set to its maximum output power level and the spectrum analyzer (the receiver) measures the actual output level at each frequency. The output level for each frequency measured is recorded. These measurements will later be stored in the analyzer so that the analyzer firmware will be able to set the TG output level correctly.
