Audio Amplitude Accuracy Option 107 Performance Test

This test applies to the following models:

This test verifies the amplitude accuracy of the Option 107 Audio path across the 20 Hz to 250 kHz frequency range of the option.

This test compares the analyzer input voltage (measured by a highly accurate DVM) to the voltage measured by the analyzers built-in Audio AC/DC Level measurement at several frequencies. Since the audio hardware provides 5 gain settings (Audio Ranging), the test is repeated 5 times using different input levels and gain settings.

Option 107 consists of an audio board and a front panel BNC connector. The audio signal path is in addition to (and completely bypasses) the normal RF/IF signal chain.

The input impedance of the audio board is about 1000 kohms. When connecting a 50 ohm source to the 100 kohm audio input, expect the audio amplitude measurement value returned to be two times the source amplitude setting.

If this test fails, perform the Audio Flatness Adjustment and Audio Step Gain and 10 kHz Calibrator Adjustment.
