Effective DANL Adjustment

This adjustment applies to the following models:

This adjustment determines the noise figure of the MXE down-conversion chain and generates several corrections which are stored in memory. The corrections are used to predict the noise that is present at the MXE input connector.

Twenty Band/Path combinations are characterized in this adjustment:

  1. RF Input 1, Band 0, RF Preselector Off, Preamp Off/On

  2. RF Input 2, Band 0, RF Preselector Off, Preamp Off/On

  3. RF Input 1, Band 0, RF Preselector On, Preamp Off/On

  4. RF Input 2, Band 0, RF Preselector On, Preamp Off/On

  5. RF Input 1, (Bands 1 – 6), Preamp Off (Except Option 503)

  6. RF Input 1, (Bands 1 – 6), Preamp On (Except Option P03)

This adjustment should be performed if the MXE fails the Effective DANL test or if any component in the RF downconversion chain is changed. This adjustment does rely on the Frequency Response corrections, so this adjustment should be performed after the Frequency Response adjustment.
