This test applies only to EMI receivers that are equipped with external mixing option EXM and wide band IF options B85, B1X, or B40. The test is repeated for each IF band. |
This test measures the amplitude accuracy of the External Mixer Input. This test is performed by placing a 300 MHz signal of known amplitude into the DUT. The DUT is placed in External Mixing Mode thus enabling the IF Input port, and the amplitude is measured on the DUT. The difference between the measured amplitude and the known amplitude is called the External IF amplitude error. This error is compared to the specification and a Pass/Fail determination is made. The main source of measurement errors are generated from the power meter measurement.
The 20 dB attenuator presents a controlled match to the External Mixer port. The low-pass filter is used to prevent the DUT External LO signal from modulating the ALC loop in the signal source.
