VSWR (Power Reference Output) Performance Test

The 1 mW Power Reference Level test must be performed prior to this test, as the VSWR measurement is dependent on the accuracy of this signal.

This test applies to the following models:

  • P-Series Power Meters:

    N1911A

    N1912A

    N8262A

  • EPM-Series Power Meters:

    N1913B

    N1914B

    N1913A

    N1914A

This test measures VSWR by equating relative powers (measured by the test system power meter and its sensors) when the power reference is exercised under different load conditions.

Required Equipment

  • The measurement system that consists of the 8481D power sensor, the 11708A 30 dB fixed attenuator, and the 11667A (Option 001) power splitter needs to be calibrated by the VSWR S11 Calibration Utility. The calibration data is valid for 5 days and will be used in this test. If the system was disconnected during the calibration period, it needs to be recalibrated.

  • The test equipment used to calibrate this measurement system needs to be mapped in this performance test for traceability and reporting purposes. Please refer to the test equipment table in the VSWR S11 Calibration Utility page for the equipment information.
