Frequency Accuracy Adjustment

This adjustment applies to the following models with firmware below A.09.xx:
  • All adjustments will require the CFG Option. Refer to the CFG Option section for more information.
  • This adjustment requires a 90 minute warmup period.

This adjustment selects the DAC setting that gives the best frequency accuracy when using the analyzer's internal reference. The DAC used for internal reference is also used for locking to an external frequency reference. The adjustment algorithm simply requests the instrument to lock to the external 10 MHz provided by the 10 MHz frequency standard, and then reads the DAC setting which has been set by the firmware locking algorithm.

The DAC value is averaged and this average DAC value is stored for the adjustment. The average value is compared to limits. The highest and lowest DAC values are checked to ensure that the firmware was properly locking.
