Enable Equalizer Smoothing Filter (802.16 OFDMA)

Default: Cleared (See OFDMA Standard Presets Table.)

When Enable Equalizer Smoothing Filter is selected, the EQ smoothing operation uses a Raised Cosine filter defined as 21 subcarriers long, with 5 taps per subcarrier and an alpha parameter of 0.5 to effectively remove noise components from the channel frequency response measurement.

Advantages:

This parameter can be useful to improve absolute and differential flatness frequency response measurements.

Disadvantages:

This parameter could hide some DSP problems which generate impairments on individual preamble tones. These impairments could impact a real receiver’s channel estimation algorithm.
