is used to isolate the measurement channel when measuring a multi-channel signal. The Multi-channel filter removes adjacent channel interference from the measurement. Using the multi-channel filter produces better channel measurement results, such as EVM Error vector magnitude (EVM): A quality metric in digital communication systems. See the EVM metric in the Error Summary Table topic in each demodulator for more information on how EVM is calculated for that modulation format., but may affect the channel frequency response flatness results. For debugging purposes, the multi-channel filter can be removed from the measurement.

The VSAs Multi-channel filter performance is optimized for spans equal to N*BW*BWRatio/1.28 (where N=2 or 4). Other span settings may result in slightly elevated RCE Relative Constellation Error is the RMS level of the Error Vector Magnitude, averaged over all subcarriers and all detected OFDM symbols. and EVM in a multi-carrier measurement due to aliasing of adjacent channel power into the analysis channel.
